How to adjust the fit of your threadless jewelry – Instructions
Before wearing your threadless piercing jewelry, it's a good idea to check whether the fit is to your liking. You can do this by testing how easily the threadless top can be removed from the post.
Does the top come out very easily? Or does it feel a little too tight? In either case, you may need to make a one-time adjustment to your jewelry.
For this guide, we'll assume you'd like your jewelry to fit more securely. You can achieve this by slightly increasing the bend in the pin of the threadless top. This creates a tighter fit inside the post.
Good to know: All of our threadless tops are pre-bent slightly using our threadless jewelry pliers. While these pliers are useful to have on hand, you can also adjust your threadless jewelry carefully without any special tools.
It's also good to know that threadless jewelry is generally easier to separate than threaded jewelry, making jewelry changes quicker and more convenient.
Don't worry, though, your threadless jewelry will still stay securely in place and is perfectly suitable for everyday wear. And with the help of our threadless guide, you can be confident that your jewelry is adjusted properly and fits exactly as it should.
Step 1
Insert the pin of the top approximately halfway into the threadless post.
Step 2
Gently bend the pin slightly to one side using your fingers. Be careful not to apply too much force.
Step 3
Push the top fully into the post and check whether it feels secure.
Step 4
- If the top is too tight, carefully straighten the pin slightly.
- If the top is too loose, bend the pin a little further.
You're All Set!
Once the top stays securely in place, your threadless jewelry is properly adjusted and ready to wear. Thanks to the convenient push/pull system, you can easily swap out your jewelry later without dealing with threads.
How to remove a threadless piercing
Now that you've learned how to adjust your threadless piercing jewelry with our threadless guide, removing it is just as easy.
Before removing your piercing jewelry, we recommend wearing nitrile gloves to improve your grip. Hold the threadless jewelry securely by the back of the post. Firmly grasp the top and remove it using a gentle twist-and-pull motion.
Once the top has been removed, you can take the jewelry out of your piercing and replace it with another piece if desired.
